Mackenzie King Estate is found in Gatineau Park near Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. These photos were taken in the spring when the trees are just breaking into leaf and lots of light comes through the forest canopy. These small waterfalls are in an idyllic natural setting in Gatineau Park on the Mackenzie King Estate. I produced the painterly effect of the water with a long shutter speed. I also decreased the contrast in the image through combining three differently exposed images into one with a technique known as HDR (high dynamic range) processing. This process adds to the illusion that it is a painting, but it is very much a photograph.
