Kite Aerial Photography (KAP).
Skating on Dow's Lake (Rideau Canal). Ottawa is well known for skating in winter on the Rideau Canal and Dow's Lake. There is also an annual event called Winterlude during which the canal and skating is a large component. The year I took this picture, I failed at 3 attempts to raise a camera with my kite to take this shot during the Winterlude festivities. Instead I had to return the following week to make this kite aerial photograph of skaters on Dow's Lake.
This image has been altered digitally with a watercolour filter to make it look more like a painting than a photograph.

Beautiful, Rob! Although I don't miss shoveling snow, I do miss skating on the Rideau Canal! I emigrated from Scotland to Ottawa 42 years ago! Time flies!
